According to ‘Box Office India’, ‘Pathan’, directed by Siddharth Anand, rained notes at the box office by earning a record Rs 51 crore on the opening day. ‘Pathan’ is getting tremendous response not only from the audience but also from the film critics. Many such videos are going viral on social media, in which the audience is seen whistling and dancing while watching the film in theatres.
Housefull shows, ‘Pathan’ beats ‘Baahubali 2’
As expected from Pathan, it did the same. The shows of the film started on January 25 at 6 am and will continue till 11:30 pm. Not only the morning shows of ‘Pathan’ remained houseful, the view of the houseful was also seen in the late night shows. ‘Pathan’ has got a big advantage of this. In many places it became difficult to even get tickets for the film. ‘Pathan’ has broken all the records of non-holiday releases by a huge margin. Till now ‘Bahubali 2’ was the biggest opening film on any non-holiday occasion. But now ‘Pathan’ has overtaken it.

‘Pathan’ got a long weekend
Not only this, ‘Pathan’ has also left behind Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ released in 2019 in terms of strong opening. The film earned 50 crores on the day of its release. At the same time, ‘KGF 2’ has also been left behind by ‘Pathan’. Yash starrer ‘KGF 2’ earned Rs 52 crore on the opening day. But it was released on holiday. Had ‘Pathan’ been released on January 26, a national holiday, then it would have become the biggest opening film. But due to its release a day earlier i.e. on January 25, ‘Pathan’ has got a strong advantage. This is because now this film has got a big weekend.
Shows extended on public demand
‘Pathan’ also stars Deepika Padukone. Apart from this, there is also a long cameo of Salman Khan, which has doubled the excitement and craze of the fans. Made in a budget of 250 crores, the film was released across 5500 screens across the country. But now, keeping in view the demand of the public, midnight shows have also been started. From January 26, Yash Raj Films has extended the shows of ‘Pathan’ till 12.30 pm across the country.
