Padma Awards 2023: Bhopal. The names of the Padma awardees have been announced on the eve of Republic Day. It has four names from Madhya Pradesh. Jodhaiya Bai of Umaria district has been awarded Padma Shri for arts, Dr. MC Davar of Jabalpur for work in medicine and Ramesh and Shanti Parmar for arts.

Jhabua (Naiduniya representative). Jhabua’s couple Ramesh-Shanti Parmar have been selected for the Padma Shri award. Both have been making tribal dolls for over 30 years. Shanti says that under the tribal project, training was given to make tribal dolls. He learned this method with the help of father-in-law and other relatives. Later this method became the means of livelihood of the family. Husband and wife are busy in refining their art and taking it forward continuously.
