MP News: Jabalpur, Naiduniya Representative. Colonel Nishith Khanna, 42, an army officer, committed suicide by hanging himself in the officers’ mess on the Chouthapule-Khalsa College road. The incident came to know around 12 o’clock on Sunday night. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took stock of the officers’ mess. The colonel’s body was taken off the gallows and sent to the military hospital. According to the police, the doctors of the hospital have confirmed his death. FSL officers including Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Aggarwal, CSP Bargi Priyanka Shukla, DSP Crime Sushil Chauhan, Cantt Police Station Incharge Arvind Choubey, Gora Bazar Police Station Incharge Vijay Singh Paraste were present at the spot. The colonel has a 15 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. He has given his life due to family reasons.

Originally from Lucknow

Police said that Colonel Nishith was originally from Lucknow. At the time of the incident, the colonel was alone in the officers’ mess or someone else was there, the police is ascertaining. Here, after getting the information of the incident, the colonel’s wife and children reached the military hospital. Police force was also deployed at San Hospital and Officers’ Mess. All senior army officers also reached the spot.

suicide note found

Police said that a five-page suicide note has been recovered from the spot. What is written in the suicide note is not known. While sealing the officers’ mess room, the police seized the suicide note and the colonel’s laptop. Mobile phones are also being examined.

Postmortem will be done in Medical College Hospital

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Aggarwal said that the post-mortem of the colonel’s body would be done on Monday at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Hospital. At present, all have been kept in the mercury of the military hospital. The colonel has a 15 year old daughter and a 12 year old son.
