Mahindra and Mahindra has started booking for its new electric vehicle XUV400 today. Last year the company unveiled it. The electric SUV was launched this month at a starting price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in two variants, the price of the electric SUV goes up to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). You can book this Mahindra electric SUV through the company’s official website at a booking amount of just Rs 5,000. Its delivery can start from March this year. Mahindra has also claimed that it aims to deliver 20,000 units of the XUV400 within a year of its launch.
XUV400 battery pack and charging options
Mahindra has launched the XUV400 electric SUV in two variants EC and EL. Both the variants are offered with two sets of battery and charging options. The EC variant of the XUV400 has been offered with a 34.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It comes with 3.3 kW charging option or higher 7.2 kW charging option. The second EC variant with higher charging capability will come at a price of Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The high-spec EL variant is equipped with a 39.4 kWh battery pack and is offered with only a 7.2 kW charging option.
Highest range among small electric SUVs
The Mahindra XUV400 boasts of the widest range among the small electric SUVs currently available in India. The top spec EL variant has a claimed range of 456 km on a single charge, while the lower EC variant could offer up to 375 km of range. In terms of performance, both the variants of the XUV400 have the same output. The EV is capable of generating 150PS of max power and 310NM of peak torque.
150 kmph top speed
Mahindra claims that the XUV400 is the fastest EV in its segment, capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds. It is capable of accelerating to a top speed of 150 kmph. The XUV400 will have three different driving modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless.
This EV will compete with Tata Nexon
The XUV400 will compete with the Tata Nexon EV in terms of pricing and range on offer. The Nexon EV is offered in more variants than the XUV400 and is priced in between.
