Know the history of Jamia
Born out of the non-cooperation and Khilafat movement for the country’s independence, Jamia University was established in the year 1920 as an institution in Aligarh. Ali Brothers i.e. Mohammad Ali Johar and Shaukat Ali Johar were in the list of founders of Jamia. Its foundation stone was laid by Maulana Mohammad Hasan, a freedom fighter. You will be happy to know that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi also had an important role in the establishment of Jamia. After 1920, it was brought to Delhi in the year 1925.
