Two-wheeler and three-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company’s profit jumped 22 percent to Rs 352.8 crore in the December quarter. During this period, the company’s revenue also increased by 14.7 percent to Rs 6,545 crore. Nazara Technologies, a company backed by late investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, reported a 76 per cent jump in profit to Rs 18.1 crore in the December quarter. Real estate company Macrotech Developers reported a 41.7 per cent rise in profit to Rs 404.5 crore in the third quarter.

In a volatile trade, the BSE Sensex registered a marginal gain of 37 points on Tuesday. Buying gains in auto stocks were negated by selling pressure in bank and energy stocks and market gains were limited. The BSE Sensex closed at 60,978.75 with a slight gain of 37.08 points, or 0.06 percent. The NSE Nifty also closed steady at 18,118.30 points after ups and downs. Tata Motors, Maruti, HCL Tech, HDFC Bank, HDFC Ltd., Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, TCS and ITC were also major gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, losers included Axis Bank, L&T, Reliance Industries, SBI, Kotak Bank, Tata Steel and Power Grid.
