Film business experts Taran Adarsh (Trade Analyst), Abhimanyu Bansal (Distributor), Akshay Rathi and Ruban Mathivanan (Exhibitors) spoke to our associate ETimes on the earnings figures of ‘Pathan’ and what they said Well, there is great news for the fans of Shah Rukh Khan.
Pathan’s first day earnings
Akshay said that he expected the film to earn around 35 crores on the first day, while Adarsh, Bansal and Ruban said that they expected the film to cross the 40 crore mark. However, the truth is that according to the initial estimates, the film created panic at the box office on the very first day and has earned 51 crores.
Told why this film is earning tremendously
Adarsh also discussed some special scenes from the film which are memorable, ranging from Shah Rukh’s entry scene, Shah Rukh-Deepika and John Abraham’s chase scene and Salman’s entry with Shah Rukh. All the four experts told why the film is earning tremendously despite the ruckus over ‘Pathan’ and its song ‘Besharam Rang’.
Taran Adarsh told- Lokhandwala’s multiplexes were packed at 7 am
Taran Adarsh told that such excitement has not been seen for a long time regarding Hindi films. He said, ‘This excitement was visible during KGF 2 when many cinema lovers were extremely excited about the film. It has been a long time since Hindi films saw such an experience. I was at Lokhandwala Mumbai multiplex at 7 in the morning and could not believe it was absolutely packed and the kind of reaction people were giving after watching the movies, Shah Rukh’s entry and Salman’s entry, what they were saying was fantastic Was.’
Was waiting for a proper hindi film
Ruban said that people celebrated South films like KGF, Kantara a lot, but they were waiting for a proper Hindi film and I think this is it.
