Attack on Indian in US: Indian-origin man killed in US, wife and daughter injured in masked firing

Washington: An Indian-American citizen was shot dead by three masked men in Georgia, US, while his wife and daughter were injured in the firing. Police gave this information. This is the second such incident involving people of Indian origin in the US within a week. Police said the incident took place on January 20 on Thoroughbred Lane near Hartley Bridge Road in Georgia.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Monday that Pinal Patel, 52, and her family were walking to their home when three masked men pointed a gun at them. It states that when Patel protested, he opened fire on the family. Pinal, his wife Roopalben Patel and daughter Bhakti Patel were injured in the incident, the statement said.

All three were taken to the hospital where Pinal was declared brought dead. According to the statement, the condition of Roopalben and her daughter is said to be stable. A 23-year-old Indian student died after being shot during a robbery in Chicago on Sunday.
